G&L L-1000 Left handed 1982 - Pre-Lawsuit - Tobacco Burst

If you never see one of this, it's normal - this is a pre-lawsuit G&L L-1000 left handed from 1982. - Serial Number on the bridge plate is B009741.

When Leo Fender and George Fullerton launched G&L, the earliest L-1000 and L-2000 basses featured a smooth, curved headstock that strongly resembled a standard Fender headstock layout. Fender (then owned by CBS) took issue with the design and pressured G&L to change it. To avoid legal warfare, G&L modified the design around late 1982/1983 by adding a sharp protruding point or hook to the center of the headstock curve—often called the "eye-gouger" or "hook" headstock. Vintage L-1000s without this hook are designated as "pre-lawsuit".
