I purchased this JS1200 recently to renew. I am a guitar builder (see my other listings). I have twenty hours invested into returning this guitar to near new condition.

This guitar had a badly touched up paint chip but was in overall clean condition. I levelled the damaged area, sanded and applied silver leaf. This gives a metal body appearance with a lot of character. Small areas missing the leaf where the original red finish is seen were left intentionally. To protect the finish, a thin high gloss two part or 2k clear was applied, level sanded and buffed to a perfect shine. This prevents fingerprints, tarnish and scratches in the metal layer.

Four of the frets were high which is not uncommon and can even occur with new guitars (wood moves...) There were no divots or heavy wear on the frets. The frets were levelled, crowned and polished to a high shine. Very little fret material was removed in the process. This guitar plays amazing with very low action.

The back of the neck had some orange peel and became slightly glossy from use (see before and after pictures). The finish was sanded to a super slick, flat matte finish.

The previous owner replaced the pickups with a set of Dimarzio Gravity Storm pickups. They are medium output like the originals and sound excellent. All of the hardware is original and in good working order. The original case in good condition is included.
