A Fender Precision Bass manufactured in 1982.

While this instrument boasts a stunning “International Color” finish, its sound is even more impressive.

This era is known for its classic ash-maple construction.

High-quality ash and maple woods with a substantial weight—typical of the ’80s—have been carefully selected for this instrument.

The pickups appear to be original based on their texture, but they lack a date stamp, and the solder on the pot side has been reworked, making it difficult to verify their authenticity. This era was known for frequent minor variations in specifications, but since there’s absolutely nothing to complain about in terms of sound, it shouldn’t be an issue unless you’re particularly picky.

The pots are dated to Week 11 of 1981. The capacitors are the familiar Circle D brand.

The neck is dated December 4, 1982.

About 40% of the frets remain; while they’re slightly low, they’ve been thoroughly leveled with no ridges and are in good condition.

The nut is also the original.

The neck is in good condition.

It’s currently straight with no extreme warping and can accommodate modern setups.

The truss rod has over 90 degrees of play remaining, so there’s still plenty of room for adjustment.

The crisp Precision sound produced by the weight characteristic of this era is now truly one-of-a-kind.

It doesn’t have the full-bodied character of a ’60s model, nor the low-end focus of a ’70s model.

It strikes a balance between the two, offering a mid-range drive and full-bodied low end, making it a highly recommended instrument with superb tone for those who want to play the Precision Bass in a rock style.

This instrument stands out with its Siena Burst finish—a color rarely seen on Fender USA models—and eye-catching white pickup covers.

There is a crack in a portion of the pickguard near the jack, but it does not affect playability.

A player-condition instrument that makes a great impression both visually and sonically.

Don’t miss out.
