Left handed Gibson Custom Shop 1968 Les Paul Custom Reissue in VOS Ebony. A Black Beauty built to the spec that made the Custom what it is today.

The 1968 Custom broke from its 1950s predecessors in three ways: a solid maple top on a mahogany back for clarity and bite, two humbuckers instead of three for picking clearance, and a 14 degree headstock angle for reduced string tension. That set became the standard for every Les Paul Custom since.

The '68 is the brighter, snappier Custom. The maple cap and ebony board give it cut and attack that the all mahogany '50s Customs don't have, while the block inlays, multi-ply binding, and split diamond headstock are the most elegant appointments Gibson puts on a Les Paul. It cleans up beautifully and gets thick and singing when pushed.
