• Fast comfortable maple neck improves overall playability
• Lightweight mahogany body provides balanced feel and strong resonance
• Modern TRBX body contours improve comfort during long sessions
• Dependable Yamaha construction designed for consistent everyday use

The Yamaha TRBX174 delivers the modern feel and versatility that made the TRBX Series a popular platform for players looking for comfort, reliability, and adaptable tone. Its P/J pickup configuration combines the warmth and punch of a split-coil neck pickup with the clarity and definition of a single-coil bridge pickup, giving players access to a broad range of usable tones suited for rock, pop, funk, indie, and everyday practice.

The lightweight mahogany body provides balanced resonance and comfortable weight distribution, while Yamaha’s modern TRBX body contours improve ergonomics and overall playing comfort during rehearsals, lessons, and extended sessions. Combined with the slim maple neck, the TRBX174 feels approachable and easy to navigate for newer players while still offering enough versatility for developing musicians.

The straightforward control layout keeps operation simple and intuitive, making the TRBX174 an ideal platform for players learning how to shape bass tone and develop technique without unnecessary complexity. Yamaha’s consistent construction and setup quality also help create a more stable and dependable long-term playing experience.

The Old Violin Sunburst finish gives the TRBX174 a warmer vintage-inspired appearance with classic tonal transitions and strong visual depth. Its darker outer edges and amber center pair naturally with the aggressive TRBX body contours, creating a bass that feels timeless, approachable, and visually expressive without losing its modern Yamaha identity.
