The Greco Mercury Bass PB600(?) model is a copy model of the Fender Precision Bass, manufactured in Japan by Fujigen and Matsumoku Industries from the late 1970s to the early 1980s.
The Mercury Bass is positioned as a mid-range to high-end model in the series and is highly regarded for its excellent craftsmanship among the domestic copy models of the time.
It features tuners engraved with the Greco logo.
Based on the catalog specifications from around 1979, the PB600 often used a 3-piece body made of Japanese ash (Sen), and this particular instrument is highly likely to be made of Sen as well.
In terms of sound, Precision Bass types from this period have a moderate weight and a very tight and powerful sound.
Overall, there are signs of use, minor dents and scratches, paint chips and stains, and deterioration of metal parts. However, it has been maintained in our workshop and is in the best possible playing condition, so you can use it with confidence.
