Mel Lewis was one of Istanbul’s very first endorsers - along with Elvin Jones. And this whole Series made Agop turn heads.
Of course this Flagship Agop Mel Lewis 19" has a dark glowing warm tone, and being the 19” it has a faster response and is overall more controlled than the larger sizes. It’s warm with both dark and bright overtones present.
At 1722 grams, it certainly isn't heavy. But, it's not paper-thin and overly washy either, hence the strong definition - and that’s a great thing on a 19”.
Where this 19" Mel Lewis really shines is that it can play a lot of positions about the Kit - Main Ride, Larger Full Crash, or Left-Side Crash Ride.
Fantastic condition, strong logos, no issues. Beautiful golden patina that dries and mellows it out organically.
