Studer 903

I bought a Studer 903 in Germany a few months ago. I should have done more research beforehand. You only buy a mixing console like this if you really know what you’re doing and can fix things yourself. I can’t do that; I was too naive. My knowledge doesn't go beyond a Tascam M3500—just connections on the back, no patchbays.

The previous owner bought this Studer from Vintagetools in early 2020. They had it refurbished, and a lot of work was done on it (see the list at the bottom of this ad). The previous owner used it for four years and then kept it in storage for two years.

A friend helped me out, and we managed to use all the inputs and get sound through the master output. That was as far as our efforts went. I found the sheer number of cables and the patchbay setup just too much to handle, so I disconnected everything again. Right now, the Studer is just sitting there looking great and serving as my desk.

I’m looking for someone with technical skills to take this mixing console off my hands. You really need to be technically inclined, as there are undoubtedly some issues here and there by now—things you’ll need to be able to fix yourself. I made one video showing it working back when I first got it. It is being sold "as is." There’s no possibility for extensive testing here, which is why you need to be capable of fixing things yourself. That’s how I bought it, too.

I’m asking 9000 euro for it. No trades. The rest is for Reverb. Naturally, all the patchbays and cables are included. The previous owner paid 18000 euro for it back then. I don’t want to take a loss on it. The console looks amazing, and in the right hands, it’s an incredible piece of gear. I’ll be moving sometime soon, and I’d hate to put it into storage. Features and modifications:

24 mic-line channels, all A-version with HP/TP filters and 4-band eq.

8x stereo groups. They can be assigned from all channels and have plasam meters, aux-sends and balanced inserts and direct outs.
