A distinctive dynamic microphone from UNITRA Tonsil, one of the major Polish manufacturers of the 1970s. The MDO IX A is industrial and consumer audio design— robust, functional, and intentionally simple. rather heavy in the hand it has exceptional build quality and relative high output and sensitivity to transients on a limited spectrum that is somewhat compressed and dramatic with a healthy range balance.

Originally intended for radio, domestic recording, and institutional use, this microphone offers a focused, mid-forward sound and a unique tonal character and extremely reliable build

This example has been converted to standard XLR for immediate use with modern equipment.

OPTICAL CONDITION

Very good vintage condition.
The housing shows light cosmetic marks consistent with age. Grille is intact and straight. All markings remain visible.
