We've received a used ESP ST-type guitar, likely produced around the early 2000s!

While many ESP guitars are custom-made, this one appears to be one of them.

Building a custom guitar from scratch inevitably becomes very expensive, so acquiring this used at this price is an exceptional deal.

Regarding the wood specs, the grain pattern suggests an ash body.

The grain visible when opening the neck and the absence of seams in the tremolo cavity suggest an offset 2P body, though the finish shrinkage points to this.

The finish has a lacquer-like shrinkage, but details are unclear. The pattern of dents also hints at the possibility of a top lacquer finish.

The fingerboard is a deep, black ebony. While the combination might suggest a very bright tone, ESP has masterfully balanced it to deliver a perfectly “just right” tone.

For pickups, it employs SSL-1 single coils. This classic pickup choice lends the model a reassuring familiarity.

It delivers crisp, razor-sharp clarity, making it naturally ideal for cutting. It captures delicate nuances with precision.

The rear pickup is a single-size humbucker; details are unknown as there are no stickers or markings.

It features the older spec with tape wrapped around the bobbins for protection. Paired with the SSL-1, it's likely an SL59-1 or similar, but this isn't confirmed.

It has that characteristic humbucker warmth with some filtering, yet retains enough high end to cut through the mix.

Other details show attention to specs, like GOTOH locking tuners and a brass nut.

A truly unique-looking piece. Don't miss out!

【Condition】

Significant wear is evident, with paint chips, scratches, and dents visible throughout.

The strap pins have been replaced with Schaller-compatible replacements.

A bridge with roller-type saddles is fitted, but the screws appear slightly mismatched, and there are six mounting holes drilled beneath the bridge, suggesting it has been replaced.

Numerous fret dents are present, with approximately 60% of the frets remaining intact.

The neck has a slight upward bow.

Set with 10-46 gauge strings, the bridge is flush-mounted. The 6th string action is set to about 1.7mm, resulting in slight buzzing on the 6th string depending on playing technique.

The truss rod is currently almost fully loosened, but there is ample room to tighten it, and it functions normally.

Comes with a generic hard case.
