Vintage Sennheiser MD4 50s Noise-Cancelling Microphone
I’d like to introduce a truly unique vintage microphone: a Sennheiser dynamic microphone from the 1950s. It’s in beautiful mint condition—you’d never guess it’s over 70 years old.
Designed to cancel out off-axis sound for vocal and dialogue recording, it was revolutionary at a time when omnidirectional microphones were the norm, and it became very popular.
I’ve attached a demo video, so please take a look. The sound has a bit less low end, but this is not a defect. If you make good use of the proximity effect, I think you can capture some interesting sounds.
It comes with the original case, a DIN-to-XLR adapter, and a K&M microphone stand. Please check the photos for more details.
