The Les Paul Standard 50s Double Trouble offers all the features and performance of our standard Les Paul Standard 50s models, but with even more vintage appeal. These limited-edition Les Paul models differ from our standard Les Paul Standard 50s models in two ways. First, the Burstbucker™ 1 and Burstbucker 2 pickups are uncapped, and each features Double Classic White coils and standard Alnico 2 magnets. The second difference is the finish. The finish colors are "Vintage" variations of our standard nitrocellulose lacquer finishes. Our standard gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finishes mimic the finishes of brand-new models from the 1950s, while the Vintage gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finishes on the Les Paul Standard 50s Double Trouble models are slightly faded compared to the standard versions, reflecting the slight vintage aging that occurs over several years. The fade patterns vary slightly from guitar to guitar, as each is individually hand-painted. Of course, all the standard features that make the 50s Les Paul Standard models so beloved are still present, including a non-lightweight solid mahogany body with an AA flamed maple top and a Vintage '50s-style rounded mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard, 22 medium jumbo frets, and trapezoid inlays.
Gibson Hardshell Case
The Les Paul Standard 50s Double Trouble is equipped with an ABR-1, the classic Tune-O-Matic™ bridge, an aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece, Vintage Deluxe tuning machines with Keystone buttons, and antique gold Top Hat knobs with indicators. The exposed and calibrated Burstbucker™ 1 (neck) and Burstbucker 2 (bridge) pickups are internally identical to their standard Burstbucker counterparts, with the exception of the Classic White Double coils. They're handcrafted in the Gibson Pickup Shop, featuring Alnico 2 magnets and hand-wired with logarithmic-curve potentiometers and Orange Drop® capacitors. The Double Classic White pickup bobbins and Vintage finishes combine to give the Les Paul Standard 50s Double Trouble a stylish vintage vibe. Despite featuring a vintage-style finish and an affordable price, production is limited to just 500 guitars of each color, meaning availability is limited, so hurry and grab your favorite while you still can!
