This vintage Buttstadt piano accordion (Germany, 1930-1940s) is a remarkable piece of musical history. Buttstadt is a respected German manufacturer of accordions from Gera (Thuringia), known for producing high-quality instruments in the 1930s and 1940s. These accordions were valued for their durable construction, superior bellows, and a rich, powerful, classic German sound. Today, well-preserved specimens like this one are increasingly sought after by both musicians and collectors of vintage European accordions.

To appreciate the quality and build of this instrument, it is helpful to note its technical specifications: it is a piano accordion featuring 41 treble keys and 120 bass buttons, equipped with 3 treble registers and 1 bass register. The accordion itself weighs 10.7 kg, and with its sturdy case, the total weight is 16.8 kg. Its physical dimensions are 54 × 43 × 22 cm, while the included original hard case measures 59 × 47 × 23 cm.

The instrument has undergone a comprehensive professional restoration, including full tuning and adjustment of the right and left-hand mechanisms, adjustment of register mechanisms, tuning of reed blocks, and re-gluing and restoration of the bass valve system. The accordion produces a powerful, rich, and expressive sound with excellent compression for its age. Please review the provided video in the description—the sound is recorded without any processing.

The accordion is in good condition for an instrument over 80 years old. It features a beautiful pearloid keyboard and an attractive celluloid body imitating tortoise shell. The original hard case is durable and well-polished. Please note the following minor details: a small decorative plastic segment (approximately 3 cm) is missing on the main treble grille. The original air supply button (ventilation valve) could not be repaired due to wear; a temporary plug has been installed, and the original part is included in a small plastic bag inside the case. The original straps are included; while authentic, they show signs of age and wear and can be kept for historical purposes or replaced at your preference. Two official certificates from the service center, detailing all restoration and tuning work performed, are included.
