Up for sale is a Tokai Love Rock LS90Q HDC, made in Japan in 2009.

The pickup cavity is stamped “90Q HDC,” confirming the model and finish. HDC stands for Heritage Dark Cherry, and this one has a gorgeous quilted top with a deep, rich look under the light. It is the kind of top that really makes the guitar feel special in person.

This is a Japanese-made Love Rock in the classic Les Paul style, with set-neck construction, a mahogany body and neck, rosewood fingerboard, and 22 frets. It feels solid and familiar in the hands, with great sustain and the kind of weight you expect from a proper single-cut guitar.

The PAF-style humbuckers sound excellent — warm, open, and clear, with a sweet neck pickup and a bridge pickup that has enough bite without getting harsh. It works beautifully for blues, classic rock, hard rock, and clean tones as well.
