The Burns brand, founded by James Ormston Burns, was a pioneer in electric guitar manufacturing in England.
They offered eccentric designs and technological innovations that resonated with groups like The Shadows, musicians like Dave Richmond (Manfred Mann and studio bassist for many musicians), and more recently, rock bands such as Arctic Monkeys, Queens of the Stone Age, Franz Ferdinand, and The Zutons.

This Burns Jazz Split Sound is a model produced for a short period in England before the move to Baldwin, a period renowned for its high-quality craftsmanship. It's a shortscale (23 1/2") guitar with a slim Jaguar-style neck and a unique, highly musical, and effective vibrato system. Very nice set of original mechanics specific to the English brand as well.

On the electronics side, the three Tri-Sonic pickups are powerful and have an unusual electrical configuration. A switch allows you to go from a round and warm "Jazz" sound to a killer bright surf garage tone, a wild out-of-phase setting (Wild Dog), and finally, the coil-split option. This split combines the three bass pole pieces of the neck pickup (E A D) with the three pole pieces of the bridge pickup (G B E). The bass is huge and attacks the amp with ferocity, and the treble is piercing. Quite a contrast!

It went to the workshop for a complete check and setup; the action is really low and fast, guaranteeing smooth playing.

Very good condition, you can see a pickguard repair near the jack, solid and safe .
