The DMZ 6000 B was the top-of-the-line model of the legendary Kramer aluminum neck basses.
These instruments are rarely found today. Thanks to their above-average sustain and enormous sound presence, the old DMZ models are sought after by collectors and discerning musicians looking for something special.
Made in the USA, year of manufacture: 1980.
The body is a sandwich construction of flamed American black walnut and bird's-eye maple with a continuous maple strip in the middle.
The aluminum neck is lined with two maple strips for a traditional feel. The fretboard is made of ebonol with crown inlays and 22 frets (plus zero fret).
Schaller tuners (still engraved with “Made in W. Germany”) ensure perfect tuning stability.
The bass was subsequently equipped with two active EMG pickups (J- and P-bass style). However, the original mini switch no longer functions.
Comes in the original rectangular case as pictured.
Good condition with minimal signs of use or playing (considering its age) – see pictures. The strings are quite old and should be replaced.
