Offered for sale is an exceptional group of six genuine Telefunken RGN2004 full-wave vacuum rectifier tubes, preserved with their original period Telefunken boxes.

All six tubes are New Old Stock. Five examples have deliberately been left inside their boxes and have not been removed for electrical testing, preserving their original NOS condition. One box had already been opened, allowing that specific tube to be professionally tested while leaving the remaining five untouched.

Rare Original Telefunken NOS Stock

Finding a genuine vintage Telefunken RGN2004 complete with its original box is already increasingly difficult. Finding a preserved group of six examples together, all with original Telefunken packaging and five intentionally left untested, makes this a particularly interesting group for collectors and restorers.

The tested example produced exceptionally strong and perfectly balanced results:

Identification and Construction

The tubes are genuine Telefunken RGN2004 rectifiers.

The opened example clearly displays the original Telefunken diamond trademark and RGN2004 designation on the glass envelope.

Particularly attractive is the characteristic large dome-top / shouldered glass construction, together with the substantial internal twin-anode structure typical of early European high-voltage rectifier tubes.

The opened tube also retains a vintage Italian “TASSA” label on the glass, an interesting historical detail clearly visible in the photographs.

Original Telefunken Boxes

The original packaging forms an important part of the historical and collectible interest of this group.

The boxes retain the classic vintage red and blue Telefunken graphics, Telefunken diamond emblem and period warranty information. The box-end labels clearly identify the tubes as RGN2004.

Five of the six tubes have deliberately not been removed for testing in order to preserve their NOS condition.

Only the tube from the box that had already been opened was used for the documented electrical test.

Professional Electrical Test – Chinaglia CD/P6

The opened RGN2004 was professionally tested using an Elettrocostruzioni Chinaglia CD/P6 valve tester.

Because the RGN2004 is a full-wave rectifier incorporating two anodes, the two rectifier sections were checked separately.

The results were exceptionally strong and perfectly equal:

Anode A: 110% efficiency

Anode B: 110% efficiency

The identical 110% / 110% result demonstrates both very strong emission and excellent balance between the two rectifier sections of the tested tube.

The electrical result applies specifically to the opened tube shown during testing. No electrical performance claim is being made for the other five individual tubes, as they have deliberately not been removed from their boxes for testing.
