Based on guitars first introduced around the same time as the OM in the early 20th century, this mid sized custom Collings C10 has a narrow waist and small upper bout resulting in a precise, focused response but with a larger custom deep body (4.75″ at the tail block) adding meaty tone and projection and the comfort of a short scale configuration- two upgrades found on the early pre-war predecessors. Custom built with an Adirondack Spruce top paired with Mahogany back and sides- a great balanced and projecting versatile combination, with dark sunburst top, Abalone rosette and wider 1 3/4″ nut width for a slightly wider string spacing and comfort. The rounded medium-fat “C” shaped neck profile with small oval heel is super comfortable to play, and is perhaps the easiest Collings for electric guitarists to adapt to. Great tone and crisp clarity make this an extremely versatile guitar for all styles of music, flatpicked or fingerpicked. The C10A vintage inspired body size is a great alternative to the OM as well.
