The Sonic XV from AJH is a diode ladder filter with a slope of -24dB/oct. It is based on the classic Musonics Sonic V filter from 1970. Some extra features have been added, including voltage controllable resonance and an extra bandpass and -6dB/oct lowpass outputs. Also added into this filter is a waveshaper/wavefolder. This is extremely useful when only low harmonic waveforms are left in one's patch. This can turn sines and triangles into beefy signals worthy of filtering. The waveshaper has three EQ variants and the drive knob can be controlled with CV or via the control knob. There is a second waveshaper available that is only implemented in the resonance feedback loop. This allows one to distort the resonance into something other than a sine wave, making the filter a powerful and harmonically rich vco.
