The Broadcast is a transformer-coupled discrete Class A germanium preamp based on classic 1960s broadcast consoles. At low gain settings, the Broadcast covers everything from sparkling clean boosts to transparent overdrive, while also providing enough volume to push an amp. The Broadcast features specially selected Triad steel-core transformers and germanium transistors. As you increase the gain on the Broadcast, the transformers and the pedal's discrete circuitry begin to saturate, creating a gentle, dynamic compression and a subtle thickness in the midrange. With the gain switch set high and the trim control turned up, the Broadcast begins to output heavier distortion sounds with a warm, fuzzy edge. The Broadcast covers a wide range of drive and distortion tones while maintaining dynamism, and responds well to picking attack and the subtle nuances of each player.
