Hi-Hats For Sale on Reverb
Crisp, sharp, and ultimately musical, hi-hat cymbals are play an enormous role in deciding what your kit and your grooves sound like. Here on Reverb, you'll find plenty of great new and used deals on fan-favorite hi-hats like the Sabian AAX Stage Hi-Hats or the classic Zildjian K Light Hats.

Types of Hi-Hats
A number of factors can affect the tone and response of a pair of hi-hats, but these three are the biggest considerations to keep in mind:
- Size: The standard size of a hi-hat is 14", which offers a time-tested combination of just enough presence with just enough bite. For a sharper sound with less body, you can go down to 13" or even 12" hats, or for big, groove-ready response, go up to 15" or 16" models.
- Weight: Heavier cymbals will offer more volume and projection while lighter cymbals offer more nuanced articulation and wash. Hi-hat weight can be largely dictated by genre, but it's all about finding your own sound.
- Hammering: There are two types of hammering: hand and machine. The former is found in examples like the Zildjian K series and, as the name implies, is done by hand, resulting in a cymbal with a lower fundamental frequency. Machine hammering is done with pinpoint precision and results in sharper cymbals with higher fundamental frequencies.
