I am reluctantly selling my prize possession - my Damien Probett LSM.

Afficiandos will know how good these are - up there in the LP replica stakes with Gil Yaron, Maxx, Terry Morgan etc

There were very few of these amazing guitars made and no more forthcoming.

Its as good a 1959 style Les Paul as you will find anywhere (with a twist)- beautifully made out of superb woods, stunningly finished with immaculate fretwork and tone for days.

I am the second owner - it was originally made for the lead singer of Swedish Band the Hives - and I have loved every minute of it. I have always looked for a natural LP and this one is just wow to look at.

Highly but subtley flamed book match maple top
59 neck shape - .885” - .965” according to damien probett
tight grain dark Madagascan rosewood board with edge binding
one piece (i think) spanish cedar body with nitro finish sinking nicely into the grain
12" radius
6150 frets (stew mac 154)
Cellulose Nitrate (vintage spec) trapezoid inlays
Shed "shed Zep" pickups (amazing!) - double white custom order
pickguard
Faber tuneomatic bridge
mastadon ivory inlays
Period correct tuners Klusons
tophat knobs
natural nitro finish (beautifully crazed now)
CTS Pots
Bone nut
pushpull neck tone - splits neck
pushpull bridge tone - takes out tone circuit
Hard Case

Weight about 8lbs ish

Generally good condition

one 2cm area of buckle rash on centre of back and some small dings around the back edge contour - tiny mark to nitro on neck

sounds - very open sounding guitar with great clarity in the neck and throaty roar in bridge. Coil taps sound great on the neck as is always the case with spencer from shed's amazing handwound pickups (A2 neck A5 Bridge) which i custom ordered in this configuration with a slight neck underwind for more clarity and no covers.

cleans up great if just playing with the volume and tone circuits work properly giving you a good range of tones ( unless a normal LP) - also stays in tune great with good intonation - guitar was set up + pickups changed by damien probett himself

You can hear aynsley lister playing the twin of this guitar on you tube - link posted in ad

the spanish cedar gives a little more top end and honk than the mahogany back - i like the extra clarity and cut in boominess - gives you all of teh LP ness you need but cuts thru the mix better live I think

All in All - just an incredible guitar - read up on reviews of Damiens discontinued LSM model online and also check out his current build rocket 59s! They are great.

All fotos with double white pickups are the guitar as it is today  but ive included 2 photos taken by damien probett in his workshop with the original covered pickups ( before he fitted the new ones) so you can see the depth of the flame and figure

possible px for danocaster S or double bound T + cash to me (maybe)

EU UK sale preferred due to cites paperwork but US sale possible as long as you are prepared to handle the US side of the documentation. The guitar will ship to a US Buyer from Probett Guitars who will handle the cites paperwork at this end.

Damien has also offered to refinish the back of the guitar for you if you want to remove the buckle rash before shipping- you pay him direct for that. around £400 i think
