Vintage 1980s C-Ducer C-Series Professional Dual Contact Microphone System – Box & Manual

Vintage C-Ducer C-Series Professional dual-channel contact microphone / transducer system, manufactured by C-Tape Developments Ltd, UK, dating from the 1980s.

The C-Ducer system was designed to capture the vibration of acoustic instruments directly from the instrument surface, providing excellent isolation from airborne sound and reducing unwanted ambience and crosstalk.

This is the Professional C-Series dual-channel version, with two inputs and both Hi-Z and 600Ω outputs.

According to the original specifications, the Professional version has a frequency response extending from approximately 10 Hz to 50 kHz (-3 dB).

The unit can be phantom powered from 24–48 V DC, as indicated on the original label, or powered from the mains via a suitable adaptor.

The main unit is very well preserved for its age. Only the original box shows some age-related wear and old label/tape residue. The device itself is in near-mint condition. Please examine the photos carefully for the exact cosmetic condition. Please note that one of the four rubber feet on the underside is missing.

A rare surviving example of an unusual British professional contact-microphone system from the early days of modern acoustic instrument amplification and recording.
