ESP LTD Deluxe EC-1001 Electric Guitar – Tiger Eye | No Limit Guitar Co, Idaho Falls

The ESP LTD Deluxe EC-1001 is a tonally extraordinary single-cut guitar that covers more ground than almost any other instrument in the LTD lineup — a mahogany body capped with a stunning flamed maple top in Tiger Eye finish, set-through 3-piece mahogany neck, Macassar ebony fingerboard with 24 extra-jumbo stainless steel frets, and a pair of Fishman Fluence Open Core Classic active pickups that deliver three distinct, selectable voices per pickup — six total tonal characters accessible via push-pull controls, ranging from vintage PAF warmth through single-coil spank and Texas-style blues grit to muscular hot-rodded crunch. TonePros locking Tune-o-Matic bridge and tailpiece with LTD locking tuners in black hardware throughout complete a specification that serves equally as a studio session workhorse and a live performance weapon. Serial number IW21112748, weighing 7.14 lbs.

Product Overview

The Tiger Eye flamed maple top is the first thing that commands attention — a warm, golden amber burst over flamed maple that showcases the figure of the top with the kind of visual depth and dimensional character that makes the EC-1001 genuinely striking on stage and in the studio. The flame figure catches light dynamically, creating a visual movement and three-dimensionality that flat colors and plain tops can't achieve. The Eclipse single-cutaway body shape frames this top in the most iconic and recognizable way — the extra mass of the single-cut design contributes genuine tonal depth and sustain, the slightly arched top keeps the picking hand comfortable in any playing position, and the sharp cutaway provides unrestricted access to all 24 frets for upper-register lead work.

Set-through construction is the neck joint specification that most directly influences the EC-1001's tonal character — the neck wood extends through the body rather than simply joining it at a heel, maximizing resonance transfer between neck and body and creating the sustained, bloom-and-decay note character that set-through designs are celebrated for. Combined with the 3-piece mahogany neck's stability and the mahogany body's warm, full-frequency resonance, the EC-1001's tonal foundation is one of the most musically satisfying in the single-cut guitar category.

The Fishman Fluence Open Core Classic pickups are the specification that makes the EC-1001 genuinely exceptional rather than simply very good. Traditional wire-wound pickups are limited to a single voice per pickup — their tonal character is fixed by the winding, magnet, and construction at the time of manufacture. The Fluence system uses multi-layer coil technology to store multiple complete voicings within a single pickup body, accessible via push-pull controls without any external switching hardware. The neck pickup's three voices cover a clear vintage PAF humbucker character (Voice 1), an airy, chiming sweetness (Voice 2), and the quack and spank of a classic single-coil (Voice 3). The bridge pickup's three voices cover a bridge PAF with extra output (Voice 1), a muscular hot-rodded humbucker (Voice 2), and an overwound single-coil character suited to Texas-style blues through screaming leads (Voice 3). Six genuinely different, noise-free tonal characters from two pickups — the breadth of tonal coverage is remarkable.

The Macassar ebony fingerboard at 350mm (13.77") radius with 24 extra-jumbo stainless steel frets is the playing surface specification that makes the EC-1001 as fast and precise as it is tonally versatile. Macassar ebony is among the densest, smoothest, most tonally crisp fingerboard materials available — glassy under the fingers, visually striking with its characteristic dark streaks, and contributing to the clarity and note definition of the instrument's acoustic response. Stainless steel extra-jumbo frets provide the smooth, effortless bending and long-term durability that standard nickel frets cannot match — stainless steel maintains its crown height through years of heavy use that would require multiple nickel fret levelings or replacements.
