1978 Rickenbacker 4001 with a Mapleglo finish in good condition. All original and complete except for the missing pickup cover. Serial number: RH4598. (Aug 1978) This Rickenbacker plays & sounds great - an all-round lovely bass.
There is general wear and tear, including a few dings & scuffs to the body, neck, and headstock, as well as a repaired crack in the pickguard. The fretboard is very clean, and the original frets have plenty of life left in them.
Fully set up in our workshop with a fresh set of strings and a great playing action. The truss rods work as they should, and the neck is straight. All electronics and hardware are in good working order with no issues. The pots date to 1978. Weight 9 lbs 6 oz / 4.26 kg. Nut width: 42.5 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 23 mm.
