A stunning 2019 Gibson Custom Shop '58 Les Paul Standard Reissue in a warm Lemon Burst over a beautifully figured maple top. This is the real-deal Historic R8 — solid lightweight mahogany body, hide-glue construction, and the big rounded '58 neck profile players chase.

It's loaded with Gibson's Custombucker humbuckers, the Custom Shop's faithful recreation of the original late-'50s PAF — lightly calibrated, unpotted-voiced, and the historically correct pickup for this reissue. They deliver that airy, dynamic, woody PAF tone the R8 is famous for.

One detail worth pointing out: the reddish color you'll see along the lower back and around the back of the neck is completely intentional and original to the guitar. This is Gibson's period-correct red aniline dye, applied to the mahogany and sealed under the clear coat — exactly the way the original 1958–'59 Standards were finished. It's not paint, not a touch-up, and not a repair; it's the factory vintage spec, and it gives the back the same translucent, characterful blush that real Bursts develop. The aged nickel hardware and lightly aged plastics round out the broken-in vintage look.
