The GS Mini-e’s top is made of sitka spruce, which blends stiffness and elasticity in just the right proportions, translating into a broad dynamic range with crisp articulation. The arched back generates more sound from the smaller body size, and using layered wood for the back and sides creates a sturdy yet receptive platform for the vibrating string energy sent by the bass’s top. Layered wood is also less susceptible to changes in temperature and humidity, making it an excellent choice if you travel with your instrument, or require more durability.

The GS Mini-e includes the Taylor Expression System Basic (ES-B) pickup, which incorporates piezo design elements from the ES2 system. It's powered by an onboard preamp that includes a built-in digital chromatic tuner, an LED display for tuning and low battery indication, plus a tone-sculpting 3-band EQ. Powered by a 9-volt battery, the ES-B conserves battery life using a standard on/off system that will automatically turn off if left on over 3 minutes.
