The 2002 Fender Classic Series '70s Stratocaster in Natural follows the standard format of the era, built in Mexico with an ash body and one-piece maple neck. It retains the large headstock, bullet truss rod, and 4-bolt neck construction associated with the '70s style, along with a 7.25" radius and vintage-style fretwork.
This example has been modified with a mirror metal pickguard and a full set of replacement pickups. Both the neck and middle positions are fitted with Duncan Performer HR101B-PF Scorcher bridge-model pickups, while the bridge position uses a Seymour Duncan SLSD-1B Lil' Screamin' Demon. The control layout remains standard with 5-way switching, master volume, and two tone controls. It has been professionally inspected and set up.
Please note- the photos where the face of the guitar is shot straight on were shot with black paper to avoid odd reflections- hence it's dark appearance. It is a highly reflective, chrome pickguard.
Cosmetic Condition:
Shows moderate wear consistent with age. Surface scratches and handling marks are present, more noticeable against the natural gloss finish. Modified pickguard is installed and has noticeable wear. Frets also have minor dents/playwear but still have plenty of life.
Neck:
Maple neck with a "U" profile and 25.5" scale length. 7.25" radius with black dot inlays and 21 vintage-style frets showing some playwear. Bullet-style truss rod adjustment at the headstock. Fender vintage "F" stamped tuners. Neck is straight, truss rod functions properly.
Body:
Ash body in natural gloss polyester finish. 4-bolt neck construction. Non-original 6-saddle vintage-style synchronized tremolo. Mirror metal pickguard installed. It weighs in at 7lbs and 15.8oz.
Electronics:
Modded with Duncan Performer Scorcher pickups in the neck and middle (bridge models) and a Seymour Duncan Lil' Screamin' Demon in the bridge. 5-way switching with master volume and two tone controls. Electronics are functioning properly.
Case:
