The Rat, which debuted in the late 1970s and continues to be a popular and well-loved model, underwent a specification change around 1984, transitioning from its initial large case to the now-familiar compact case. This version, known as the "White Face," features a logo that is a black and white inversion of the current one. While the internal components remain largely unchanged from the large case era, its compact size makes it highly regarded both in the market and among collectors.

Based on internal data, this particular instrument is believed to have been shipped around 1984. The casing shows signs of rust and wear, and there is self-engraving on the back, giving it a vintage feel. The casing screws and battery box screws have been replaced.
