Updated for 2026, the MTD Kingston Saratoga Deluxe 5 combines classic MTD styling with upgraded modern specs for a more boutique-inspired 5-string bass experience. This model features an alder body, roasted maple neck, roasted maple fingerboard, active/passive electronics, MTD JJ pickups, and licensed Hipshot Ultralite tuners.

The roasted maple neck adds stability and contributes to a comfortable, broken-in feel. MTD’s asymmetrical neck design and compound 10"-14" fingerboard radius make the Saratoga Deluxe comfortable across the full range of the neck, while the Buzz Feiten Tuning System helps maintain accurate intonation.

Like all Kingston instruments, this Saratoga Deluxe 5 goes through a careful quality control and setup process in Kingston, NY. The MTD Quick Release bridge allows fast top-loading string changes, and the licensed Hipshot Ultralite tuners offer dependable tuning performance with reduced headstock weight.

The active preamp offers bass, middle, and treble boost/cut for wide tone shaping. The active/passive switch lets you route the hum-cancelling J-style pickups directly to the output and use the passive tone control for a more traditional bass voice.
