The Katana:GO offers ten amp types and over 60 effects in Guitar mode, and three amp types with over 60 effects in Bass mode, with 30 user memory slots per mode for storing favorite sounds. The Stage Feel function uses advanced spatial processing technology to deliver an immersive 3D headphone experience that simulates the natural interaction of a guitar amplifier and speaker cabinet in a room—removing the flat, "in-your-head" quality of conventional headphone practice. An OLED display provides clear memory and tuner readouts, and Bluetooth connectivity enables wireless streaming from mobile devices for playing along with backing tracks.

The Katana:GO connects to BOSS Tone Studio (iOS/Android) for deep sound editing and access to the BOSS Tone Exchange cloud library. USB-C enables use as an audio interface for recording and streaming. A built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery delivers approximately five hours of continuous use, charging to full in about three hours. Optional wireless foot controllers (EV-1-WL, FS-1-WL) provide hands-free performance control without breaking the wireless freedom of the design.
