A bold Flying V for modern players
The new Futura Series guitars from Epiphone are designed for today’s guitarists who want a guitar that delivers professional performance and forward-thinking features. These Inspired by Gibson models deliver tone and style that’s perfect for gigging, recording, or content creation in the modern era. With bold, color-shifting finishes, all-new pickups, and versatile electronic features like coil splitting and phase switching, they have the look and sound that today’s players need to stand out from the crowd and make their own statement, both sonically and visually. Other high-performance features, including stainless steel frets, compound-radius fretboards, and ultra-comfortable neck profiles, make the Futura Series guitars truly innovative and a must-have addition for any guitar collection.
The Gibson Flying V™ remains one of the most iconic and adventurous designs in electric guitar history. First introduced in the late 1950s, its futuristic shape was ahead of its time, eventually becoming a favorite among rock and metal players worldwide. Epiphone proudly introduces the Futura Flying V Custom—a striking, modern interpretation of that groundbreaking design. Its angular mahogany body features elegant 7-ply top binding, paired with a LockTone™ Tune-O-Matic™ bridge and LockTone Stop Bar tailpiece for exceptional sustain and tuning stability. Posi-Lok™ strap buttons keep your strap secure without extra hardware. The glued-in mahogany neck sports a sleek Modern C profile for effortless playability, topped with a bound ebony fingerboard featuring 22 stainless steel medium jumbo frets and sophisticated Super 400-style pearloid split block inlays. A 10”-14” compound radius ensures smooth chording and bends, while the bound arrowhead-shaped headstock includes locking Grover® Rotomatic® tuners with kidney buttons, a Graph Tech® nut, and elegant mother-of-pearl inlays for the Custom split diamond and Epiphone logo.
At the heart of the Futura Flying V Custom are Epiphone’s new ProBucker™ Ignite humbuckers™, delivering powerful tones with clarity and definition. Two push/pull volume controls enable coil-splitting, while a push/pull tone control adds phase switching for even greater sonic flexibility. Available in two stunning Chromashift finishes—Quicksilver Shift and Solaris Shift—this guitar is designed to turn heads on stage or on screen. Whether you’re after a modern aesthetic, versatile electronics, or a performance-ready instrument, the Futura Flying V Custom delivers. Each one ships with a premium gig bag, ready to accompany you wherever inspiration strikes.
