The Silktone Expander Pedal is for players who want one drive pedal to do a little bit of everything- subtle harmonic thickening, gritty overdrive, chewy fuzz, and everything in between. Whether you're a studio player dialing in tones at low volume or a gigging guitarist looking for an always-on preamp feel, this pedal fills the space between clean and dirty with real depth and character.

Built around a JFET-based harmonic generator, a vintage-inspired germanium gain stage, and a final JFET tuned to mimic a tube amp's first stage, the Expander gives you a feel that's rich and responsive. Controls are simple but deeply interactive: Gain shapes everything from light breakup to singing saturation, Choke tightens or fattens the low end, and Volume allows you to slam the front end of whatever's next in your signal chain, or to let the pedal do all the talking. The three-way Voice switch dials in high-end response to suit your rig and playing style, whether you're stacking pedals or just plugging straight into an amp.

What we really appreciate about the Expander is how well it plays with everything. It's voiced to sit comfortably in your chain, whether you're pushing other pedals or just looking to breathe more life into your clean tone. It does the subtle stuff better than most, and when you dig in, it opens up with a character that's thick but never muddy. We've found it's one of those pedals you leave on more than you turn off. We think this one is worth...*expanding* your horizons for when you think of what to put on your pedalboard. It's truly something special.
