In the world of "first call” drummers, Steve Ferrone is the first one they call. Just ask Michael Jackson, Eric Clapton, Phil Collins, George Harrison, Stevie Nicks, Christine McVie, Rick James, Slash, Chaka Khan, Bee Gees, Al Jarreau, Mick Jagger or Johnny Cash. When iconic bands like Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Average White Band, Duran Duran and Aerosmith needed to replace their “irreplaceable” drummers, Steve Ferrone was the guy who stepped up. 
Steve played a lot of drums throughout his career and he's saved almost every one of them. He has drums from Ludwig, Pearl, DW, Gretsch, Rogers and more. Some are custom made, some are rare prototypes, all are stellar drums. Nothing made it into his collection unless it was exceptional. 

He’s thinning down his collection to just the drums he needs for his current gig with Mike Campbell and the Dirty Knobs, and his steady stream of session dates.
Steve’s collection is being offered for sale, hoping these drums find buyers who appreciate their history and continue making great music with them.

Steve worked closely with the drum designers at Pearl in developing this 6.5x14" aluminum shell snare drum. After a few prototypes, they settled on this version and put it into production. This drum remained part of Steve's personal collection of recording snares. The aluminum shell produces an articulate sound with controlled sustain. Steve Ferrone signed the batter head.
