Instantly recognizable and unmistakably warm, the Epiphone Hummingbird Standard acoustic-electric guitar brings the classic square-shoulder dreadnought voice into a format built for modern, everyday use. Part of Epiphone’s Inspired by Gibson collection, this model draws from the original Hummingbird design while pairing all-solid spruce and mahogany tonewoods with dependable Fishman electronics for stage-ready performance. A comfortable one-piece mahogany neck with a Rounded C profile supports long writing sessions and live sets, while soundhole-mounted controls keep amplification adjustments quick and unobtrusive. The result is a familiar Hummingbird feel refined for today’s working player.
All-Solid Tonewoods That Evolve Over Time
A solid spruce top paired with solid mahogany back and sides delivers the focused low end, clear mids and woody warmth associated with the Hummingbird voice. This all-solid construction allows the guitar’s tone to open up and become more responsive as it matures. The square-shoulder dreadnought body shape provides strong projection and dynamic range, making it equally effective for strumming, fingerstyle and vocal accompaniment.
Rounded C Mahogany Neck With Traditional Appointments
The one-piece mahogany neck features a Rounded C profile that sits naturally in the hand during extended sessions. A genuine rosewood fingerboard with 20 frets and mother-of-pearl split parallelogram inlays offers smooth playability and clear visual reference. The tapered dovetail neck joint reinforces structural stability while supporting efficient vibration transfer.
Fishman Electronics for Natural Amplified Performance
A Fishman S-Core under-saddle pickup paired with a Presys VT preamp delivers amplified tone that reflects the guitar’s natural acoustic character. Soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls allow quick, intuitive adjustments without disrupting the instrument’s clean aesthetic. The system is well suited for players who need reliable plug-in performance for stage or studio use.
Signature Hummingbird Details With Road-Ready Hardware
The epoxy-style tortoise Hummingbird pickguard with signature graphics protects the top during heavy strumming while preserving the model’s iconic look. A reverse belly rosewood bridge with a bone saddle supports consistent intonation and sustain, while Epiphone Deluxe tuners with gold finish and Keystone buttons promote stable tuning. Each appointment balances vintage character with practical durability.
A Classic Platform Adapted for Modern Use
For players drawn to the look and voice of a square-shoulder dreadnought but seeking dependable electronics and all-solid construction at an accessible level, the Epiphone Hummingbird Standard stands as a practical option. As an Inspired by Gibson model, it honors a historic design while remaining well suited for gigging, recording and daily practice, complete with a premium gig bag for transport and protection.
