Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a rare Gibson Hummingbird Jumbo Acoustic in fetching Wine Red from 1976.  This Wine Red variant has been reissued by Gibson recently and lists for $4,000.   This particular example was sold new in Japan and includes the original Case, Norlin hang tag, and warranty card with the original owner's info filled out.  A very cool piece of kit.  They know a good thing when they see it.  This Norlin era gem has the nice even and recordable tonality that Gibson is known for.  Nice warm highs, present mids and a round low end.

Our luthier performed a much needed neck reset and corrected a factory alignment issue.  The neck block, tail block, and pickguard have been reglued.  The headstock delamination in the photos was also glued up and is as solid as a rock.  The frets are at .035"-.037" and have been leveled, crowned and polished.  These came from the factory with low frets (about .040") so there's a lot of life left.

The nut measures 1.73", neck depth is .834"-1.04" at the 1st and 12th frets respectively.   It's a Norlin C carve.  24 7/8" scale, 12" radius, 4.76 lbs.  Freshly strung and accurately intonated with D'Adarrio Bronze 12-53 roundwounds.  The neck is straight, the truss rod turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability.  There are a few scratches and dings as pictured.  It remains in excellent playable condition with no dead spots.
