PRS Eddie's Guitars Wood Library Special Semi Hollow Quilt/Stained Maple Neck - Fire Red Burst #422053

The PRS Eddie's Guitars Wood Library Special Semi Hollow Quilt/Stained Maple Neck - Fire Red Burst is an exclusive, boutique-level instrument that pairs PRS’s masterful craftsmanship with the distinctive flair of Eddie’s Guitars Wood Library selections. Built for players who demand visual drama and tonal sophistication, this semi-hollow Special showcases premium tonewoods, versatile electronics, and striking aesthetics in one finely tuned package.

At the forefront is a breathtaking Quilt Maple “Ten Top,” hand-selected for exceptional figure and depth. Finished in a vivid Fire Red Burst, the carved top radiates dimension and movement under stage lights. The semi-hollow construction enhances resonance and adds a natural airiness to the attack, giving notes a blooming quality while maintaining clarity and focus. A mahogany back anchors the tone with warmth and midrange richness, creating a beautifully balanced sonic foundation that responds dynamically to touch.

The 25" scale length offers PRS’s signature balance between snap and warmth, while the 22-fret layout emphasizes classic feel and tonal sweetness. The figured maple neck is both visually stunning and tonally articulate, contributing brightness and definition to the overall voice of the instrument. Carved to PRS’s comfortable Pattern neck shape, it feels substantial yet fast in hand, accommodating both expressive lead lines and articulate rhythm playing.

An ebony fretboard crowns the neck, delivering a smooth, glassy surface with crisp note attack and piano-like clarity. The fretboard is adorned with striking J Birds inlays in abalone with paua centers, adding a refined shimmer that complements the Fire Red Burst finish. Together with the stained maple neck, the visual presentation is nothing short of extraordinary—an instrument designed to stand out as much as it performs.

Electronics are centered around a pair of McCarty III pickups, with a McCarty III Treble in the bridge and a McCarty III Bass in the neck position. These pickups offer vintage-inspired warmth, articulate highs, and a rich harmonic character that excels in both clean and overdriven settings. The control layout is exceptionally versatile, featuring volume and push/pull tone controls, a 5-way blade pickup switch, and two mini-toggle switches. This expansive switching system unlocks a wide tonal palette—from full, muscular humbucker tones to nuanced, single-coil-inspired textures—making it equally at home in blues, rock, fusion, or session work.

Performance hardware matches the instrument’s elite status. The PRS Patented Tremolo, Gen III bridge provides smooth, expressive vibrato with excellent tuning stability, while PRS Phase III locking tuners ensure quick string changes and rock-solid reliability. Finished in smoked black hardware, every detail complements the guitar’s bold red burst and dark appointments with modern sophistication.

Housed in a Black Paisley hard case, the PRS Eddie’s Guitars Wood Library Special Semi Hollow Quilt/Stained Maple Neck – Fire Red Burst is more than a limited edition—it’s a finely crafted statement piece. Combining premium wood selection, semi-hollow resonance, and expansive tonal flexibility, this instrument embodies PRS artistry at its highest level while offering the individuality and exclusivity that Wood Library models are known for.
