G&L S-500 US made 1995 - Transparent Red

Easily the best "Strat" that I have ever played. This is Leo Fender's final word on the Stratocaster, and it plays and sounds absolutely amazing! (It even stays in tune after heavy use of the trem. How about that!)

It breaks my heart to let it go, especially knowing that I will never find another now that G&L is no more, but alas, such is life.

Here are the specs:

US Made in Fullerton, CA using many of Leo Fenders ORIGINAL, specialized machinery. (He did not sell the machinery to CBS.)

Transparent red over an Swamp Ash Body

Maple finger board with black clay dots and 12" radius.

Bone Nut

Hard-rock maple neck

Medium Jumbo Nickle frets with PLENTY of life left in them.

Dual-Fulcrum vibrato - designed by Leo Fender himself.

Magnetic Field Design single coil pickups with individually adjustable pole pieces - also designed by Leo Fender himself.

One volume knob with PTB (Passive Treble and Bass) for all three pickups. (Yes, you can adjust both treble and bass with this set up.)

Expander Switch (aka the Gilmour switch) to allow nick and bridge or all 3 pickups at once.

Sperzle locking tuners

Pearl pick guard and trem cover.

3 bolt, adjustable tilt neck. (This is the PROPER execution of the design, unlike the CBS era Fenders. It is stable and the micro tilt is fabulous for dialing in the exact feel you want.)

Non-original, but period correct hard case.

DISCLAIMERS:

While the body, neck, trem, tuners and neck plate are all original, the pick guard, pickups and electronics were missing when I bought the guitar.

I purchased all new, pots, caps, knobs and pickups from G&L when I bought this guitar a few years ago and sourced the pickgurad and trem cover from the original supplier as well. With those, the guitar is fully back to it's original specs with parts that are identical to those originally used.

There are 3 "dings" in the guitar, all pictures. Two are small dents in the finish, one on the front and one on the back. The other is a small dent in the neck
