Yamaha’s original Nippon Gakki Red Label acoustic guitars are highly regarded for their exceptional tone and craftsmanship. The Yamaha Red Label FG3 draws inspiration from those classic instruments while incorporating modern refinements for improved performance. Built with solid tonewoods treated through Yamaha’s A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement) process, it delivers enhanced resonance and a naturally aged, broken-in sound. Updated scalloped bracing contributes to a louder, more balanced tonal response, while the guitar also features a classic V-shaped headstock and a refined semi-gloss finish.

Inspired by Yamaha’s iconic 1960s Red Label guitars, the FG Red Label series reflects the look and feel of the company’s early steel-string acoustics, known for their distinctive sound and Japanese craftsmanship. These instruments blend vintage styling with modern construction techniques to recreate a true-to-life vintage voice, using advanced wood conditioning methods. Across the series, you’ll find traditional design cues like the V-shaped headstock with Yamaha’s tuning fork logo, solid tonewoods, updated bracing, and elegant semi-gloss finishes.

The FG3’s construction is designed to improve both tone and playability.
