The 2025 Fender Custom Shop Limited Custom '68 Stratocaster Maple Relic Aged Lake Placid Blue represents an extremely accurate reinterpretation of the late 1960s specifications. The select alder body features a relic Lake Placid Blue nitrocellulose finish, with consistent and evenly distributed wear patterns typical of the original models. The Relic WCC treatment gives the surface a worn yet controlled feel, with fine checking and natural abrasions in the contact areas. The quarter-sawn maple neck with a Late '60s profile offers a solid and stable feel, featuring a medium tint nitro finish that faithfully replicates the yellowing typical of the vintage instrument. The slab maple fingerboard features a 9.5" radius and narrow-tall 6105 frets, a combination that ensures contemporary comfort while maintaining the vintage aesthetic of period models.

The electronics combine a calibrated set of HW '69 Strat CC pickups in the neck position, a HW Strat Fat '50 in the middle position, and a HW Tex-Spec Special in the bridge position, according to the specifications listed in the Shop Floor Traveler. The SSS configuration, combined with the 5-way selector switch, allows for a wide tonal palette, with defined attack, balanced midrange, and an authentic Stratocaster character enhanced by the controlled overwound. The hardware is vintage-style: Custom Shop Vintage Strat CC bridge, Fender F-Key tuners, and a '63-'76 Strat pickguard with a nitro finish. The guitar includes a Fender Custom Shop hardshell case, certificate of authenticity, and original accessories. The measured weight is 3.505 kg, perfectly in line with the standards of the most resonant and dynamic Stratocasters.
