Sporting a battle-scarred nitro lacquer finish from the talented team in the Murphy Lab program, the Gibson Acoustic 1936 Advanced Jumbo Heavy Aged puts the well-seasoned sound of a true golden-era Gibson in your hands. This guitar replicates the original 1936-era Advanced Jumbo in full measure, pairing a thermally aged red spruce top with rosewood back/sides and a long 25.5-inch scale. The result is a deeper, more projecting tone compared to your typical Gibson slope-shouldered 6-string — a quality further aided by the guitar’s hand-scalloped wide X-bracing. Head on over to the neck to be greeted by a mahogany slab that wears a period-accurate Historic AJ profile, topped with a rosewood fingerboard and mother-of-pearl diamond and arrow inlays. You also get aged-in Waverly tuners that offer modern pitch stability with all the charm of an old-school open-back machine head. Factor in the classic fire stripe pickguard, historic rosewood square bridge, eye-catching diamond/arrow peghead inlay, and iconic Gibson script logo, and the 1936 Advanced Jumbo Heavy Aged captures vintage Gibson style, sound, and attitude right down to a T.
