“On or about the Y2K Millenium, crews were sent out to explore old churches across Bavaria and other parts of Europe.  Their task was to find old spruce organ pipes that had been in storage for many decades since being replaced by metal pipes.  Paesold artisans were lucky enough to acquire enough large diameter, German spruce pipes to craft 100 violins.  Using a tone wood that is centuries old and has spent much of its time being exposed to sonic vibrations and projecting sound, makes for an ideal violin top. 

Combined with forty-year-old  choice AAA+ highly flamed maple back and sides, rosewood & ebony accoutrements, Paesold has managed to construct an exquisite instrument that sounds wonderfully aged and will last a lifetime.  Each instrument is serialized XX / 100 and comes with a factory certificate of authenticity.  Also included is a deluxe wooden oblong case that is silk lined and includes hygrometer. Instrument is modeled after Guarneri specifications.”

This violin's wood comes from a pipe organ built in the 1500s. It has aged for centuries, and as it did, it vibrated and resonated, awakening its musical properties.

When their master luthiers combine their skill with this unique pipe-organ tonewood, the result is a masterful instrument with a rich, sonorous tone that's easy for any musician to control.

This process awakens the wood's musical properties in a way that modern ageing simply can't replicate.

When you buy a new violin, the age of the wood matters; student instruments may use wood aged for only a few years, while professional ones use wood that has been dried for 10 to 20 years.
