The S2 Special Semi-Hollow Reclaimed Limited Edition is a 700-piece run that showcases the unique character of reclaimed and salvaged woods. The top is made from Peroba Rosa, a 100-150-year-old wood historically used as Brazilian siding. Its density, combined with the semi-hollow body, gives the guitar a unique sound that is both punchy and warm.

The guitar’s neck is crafted from Cuban mahogany, sourced from Puerto Rico, with some of the wood salvaged from trees blown down by Hurricane Maria in 2017. The Guaribu Preto fretboard comes from Brazil, where the wood was once used for house support beams. To preserve their history, each guitar is left natural with a satin nitro finish, and any nail holes, wear, or discoloration are intentionally left on the top wood.

This model maintains the standard S2 Special Semi-Hollow features, including a hum/Narrowfield/hum pickup configuration and controls that offer twelve different tonal combinations. Paul Reed Smith notes that instruments like this are a great way to highlight the personal stories behind the wood sourcing, a core part of the company's heritage.
