(USED) Where did the last 35 years go?? This Lowden S12 has just a bit of wear and tear on it, but it has a very lively voice, dare we say MIGHTY sounding for a small to medium size guitar. It has a Sitka spruce top, mahogany back and sides and a five-piece neck with layers of mahogany and walnut. It is just under 14 3/4" at the widest point of the lower bout, but measures 4 1/4" deep at the tail block, which seems to be putting a bit more power in the low end. Lowdens have a reputation for sounding best in DADGAD and other modal tunings, and this one does that perfectly well, but also has a confident voice in standard and dropped D tunings.
1 3/4" nut, 2 3/16" string spacing at the saddle, long scale measures just under 25 1/2". Rosewood bridge and binding, ebony fingerboard. Gold Schaller tuners with amber buttons. The neck shape is a low oval measuring .86" at the first fret and .932" at the ninth. Guitar weighs in at 4lbs 2oz.
Condition is very good with a little fret wear under the unwound strings and a supplemental scratch plate installed where the pick was scraping into the top. Comfortable action and good saddle height. K&K pickup installed. Includes Hiscox molded case.
