6-String | Sitka Spruce Top | Tropical Mahogany Back and Sides | Tropical Mahogany Neck | West African Crelicam Ebony Fretboard | Expression System® 2 Electronics | Non-cutaway | Taylor Deluxe Hardshell-Western Floral Case

Featuring the Grand Pacific dreadnought body shape, exclusive comfort features and top-tier tonewoods, the Builder's Edition 517e WHB introduces Taylor players to a new kind of sound within our lineup. Solid mahogany back and sides generate a warm, punchy midrange response with projection and aged-in warmth from the torrefied Sitka spruce top, resulting in a blended, seasoned tone with clear low-end power. Our V-Class bracing enhances the response with more volume and longer sustain while also providing greater harmony between notes. This Builder's Edition model also boasts chamfered edges and a compound-carve neck profile for a more seamless feel, and the Silent Satin finish reduces incidental playing noise for recording applications.

Grand Pacific - This round-shoulder dreadnought delivers a new flavor of warm, rich Taylor tone.

Tropical Mahogany- A midrange powerhouse. Mahogany is prized for balance and articulation, making it one of the best all-around tonewoods there is.

Sitka Spruce - The soundboard choice for most guitars, Sitka spruce produces a broad dynamic range and accommodates a versatile range of playing styles.

Expression System® 2 - The Expression System® 2 captures more of a guitar’s dynamic properties using a breakthrough behind-the-saddle design.

V-Class Bracing - Our patented V-Class bracing is a revolutionary new pattern — a new sonic engine — that marks a major shift away from traditional steel-string bracing patterns.
