With bell-like clarity over a broad sonic spectrum, the solid European spruce top’s transparent character is ideal for both sensitive fingerstyle playing and relaxed strumming techniques. The richness of ethereal overtones is the defining essence of this premium sought-after wood featured on this model. Bright yet natural with a strong and warm midrange, the beloved mahogany wood has been a standard for back and sides on premium acoustics for many decades. Inspired by the popular grand concert body shape, the newly designed Modern Concert body shape is Cort’s own rethinking of the smaller acoustic body type that was carefully designed for enhanced resonance and responsiveness. Together with a softer venetian cutaway, the Modern Concert shape also boasts playing comfort. Instead of a conventional sound hole in the center of the body, the specifically placed dual sound ports on the sides affect the Helmholtz properties of the body and enhance the dynamics and the treble of the acoustic tone. It also allows the player to better monitor the natural sound of the guitar during performance while enabling the audience to hear the guitar as well.

Meanwhile, since the top wood is free of sound holes, it is more resilient and resonant. To enhance comfort and playability, custom bevel cuts for the arm rest and rib rest were implemented. Not only do these cuts provide ergonomic functionality, they provide a unique look not often found on acoustic guitars. Tweaked to perform even better with modern acoustic guitar amplifiers, the Matrix Infinity VT pickup and preamp system is the latest evolution of Fishman’s flagship Matrix Series. Clear, transparent Fishman-Quality tone and dynamic string response have been combined with new design features and performance enhancements such as soundhole-mounted Volume and Tone control module and easily accessible preamp voicing switch that can accommodate different types of amplification choices, playing styles and performance situations.
