Tiptop Audio continue their quest to make classic Buchla modules accessible to all with the 285t frequency shifter. Not to be confused with a pitch shifter, a frequency shifter changes frequencies in a linear fashion and can be used for all kinds of creative effects, from subtle swirling stereo chorus to wild, clangorous experimentation. Add balanced modulation/ring modulation functionality and you have a module that's perfect for all you sonic explorers!
Manufacturer's descriptionThe 285t combines two sets of functions: the top section features a frequency shifter, while the lower section includes both balanced modulation and classic ring modulation, all with voltage control. The frequency shifter can shift incoming audio using either its internal oscillator or external audio. Both SUM and Difference outputs are available simultaneously for analog stereo widening effects and more.
