Up for sale is my Custom Shop 000 style Martin which was completed in 2023. This guitar essentially fuses the specs of the 000-28EC and the OMJM.

The guitar is incredibly high end through and through - all grain patterns are remarkable and the rosewood, ebony, and mahogany are nice, well figured, dark pieces.

It’s a beautiful instrument that sounds absolutely incredible, but I have amassed a pretty large collection over the years from buying/trading, so I need to downsize a bit. 

It has an incredible, balanced harmonic and musical projection.

CONDITION AND SPECS

It been played very lightly and has a few light cosmetic dings and marks on the body and headstock that would be expected from normal use. It's not in brand new condition, but is is such nice shape overall. No structural issues/cracking whatsoever.

The guitar has many upgrades from the Custom Shop including:

• All cosmetic appointments of the OMJM (style 45 boltaron rosette, herringbone, inlays, silver Martin logo, zig zag back purfling, grained ivoroid binding

In addition, I had a K&K mini pickup and Holter custom teardrop pickguard installed by Maury’s Music. 

Includes Martin molded plastic case which is in nice condition - barely used. 

NECK MODIFICATION

The neck was professionally tapered a few millimeters to get it more in line with the 1 3/4 nut width - it was over spec from the factory. The taper begins at the 14th fret and runs to the nut which was also recut. The fret work is absolutely excellent, and there is a nice roll to the edge of the fretboard. The tapering work was color matched (it’s not exact, but that is to be expected unless you were to strip the finish entirely and restart the finish) and then finished with tru oil to protect and seal the wood. 

It feels fantastic and is a very subtle change. The slight difference in finish resembles a nicely broken in neck. 

The new nut is beautiful unbleached bone - the slots are the perfect height to allow for easy, comfortable playing with plenty of sustain and resonance. The glue joining the original nut and the gloss headplate had to be lightly cut with an exacto blade to remove it, so there is a slight trace of that cut where the new nut connects.

Also, there is a mahogany dowel plugging a hole in the heel of the neck where the strap button was installed (this was finished over as well). The strap button was moved to the butt of the heel of the neck.
