Yamaha Hybrid Maple with a core ply of (African) Wenge. Sizes are 22" (x2), 10", 12", 13", 16" & 18" floor toms. All 3 mounted toms include arms and this kit will come with one Yamaha 3-hole clamp tom stand (not pictured). The floor toms also come with legs (6 total). The heads are mixed but all in pretty good shape. Evans are on the batter side of the kicks. Though not pictured, I do have a matching reso head (with the mic hole) for the second kick instead of the solid head. The dw pancake drum will also come with the kit. I still have the original box and spurs (to convert to a kick drum). The head will need to be replaced on it. NO OTHER HARDWARE OR ITEMS WILL COME WITH THIS KIT.
The kit is a player's kit and has some marks and dings. All the bearing edges are true. I haven't been very impressed with the Yamaha hardware, as several of the die-cast rims and smaller hardware pieces are oxidizing much faster than they should for a modern kit. I have read similar instances from Yamaha owners. These are cosmetic items, as rims and screws can easily be replaced. Please see the pics for representation on some of this. The rubber boot is missing off one of the bass drum spurs. I have a new one ordered from Yamaha but it's about an 8 week wait.
The serial #'s and manufactured dates on the drums are:
AMT1208 HKK2041-12” Feb 2014
AMT1309 HKN097-13” July 2014
AMB2218 HKL2049-22” May 2014
AMF1816 HKJ1355-18” March 2014
AMB2218 HKL2481-22” May 2014
AMF1615 HKK2040-16” Feb 2014
I purchased the 10" tom separately about 5 years ago and it is a much newer drum than the rest. It cost me about $600 new.
These kits feature
* Yamaha's hook lugs
*Y.E.S.S. III tom mounts
*Low-mass tom holders (on each bass drum)
*45 degree bearing edge on toms and a 30 degree on the bass drums
*Multiple vent hole placements to optimize tone
*Vintage finish interior
*3mm Aluminum Die-Cast Hoops
I am the second owner of this kit. Tommy Aldridge conducted a clinic on this kit for a music store, signed the bass drum heads, then did a drawing for someone in attendance to win the kit. I purchased the kit from the winner (who was/is actually a guitar player). See pics for the add (the printed add will come with the kit). He also took pics of Tommy playing the kit and once he had the kit set up at home. Since the original owner kept the bass drum heads, I cannot in good faith guarantee that this is all factual but it sure is a ton of coincidences. Yamaha Customer Service could also not confirm, as this kit was purchased by the music store for this event and not made specifically for Tommy. Because of this, I am only asking for the value of the used drums and not for any additional value just because Tommy played it. It is a definite cool point, but not one I feel is fair to speculate and take advantage of in the price. It is extremely rare to find a Yamaha kit this big, in this configuration, and with 2 matching kick drums.
For reference, Reverb (Bish's Beat Barn) has a double-bass drum kit listed in this same Yamaha series (but mint condition and in an awesome green sparkle finish!), different sized kicks, smaller tom & floor tom sizes, but with a snare for $5780--and mine comes with the stand and the dw pancake drum! My price is very comparative.
**THIS IS FOR LOCAL PICK UP ONLY. I WILL SPLIT THE DRIVE WITH YOU, BUT NO FARTHER THAN 100 MILES FOR EACH OF US. I WILL NOT BREAK UP THE KIT.**
