Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

You are looking at a very rare quality studio microphone made by Electro Voice during the 1960's and was one of their top of the line model mics used for general broadcasting and recoding purposes. This is a 1966 652A model dynamic microphone that could be handheld for interviewing purposes or placed in the original mic clip and placed on a desk or floor stand. This hard to find mic comes with the original box, plastic baffle, cable and E.V 300 model clip with AD-1 adapter.

This mic is so rare that I don't even have a catalog with the model shown. It was a short run production model and it's the first one I have personally seen. The all metal body has the stock green paint and an extra long neck giving you all the reach you need.

A very practical and handsome design. Very lite weight as well. The thin neck on this mic is actually very firm but can be net to any degree needed. You just have to be careful bending it as it will break if you bend it too many times in the same place as stated in the original data sheet which is not included. You can find all this info on Coutant dot org.

This mic has been tested and has a perfect working dynamic element that is set at low impedance. It's an omni-directional pattern picking up more background noise. it should be noted that the mic does not have hardly any bass though though. more mid range in tone bordering on high. You can always adjust the tone with a good E.Q but know it's not a bass heavy mic at all.

The mic comes with it's original plastic baffle that sits on the front of the mic if you want lass omni-directional tendencies. It fits firmly via tension and will come off with a little force. A very cool accessory if needed.

The mic comes with the original 300 model mic clip. It's an all metal design and in perfect physical and operating condition. This mic alone is worth $100.00. It sits nicely on the mic and won't scratch the paint. The clip can be screwed onto any desk or floor stand you have.

The mic is in excellent physical condition. The chrome mesh screen is nice with no discoloration, odor or deformation. Mic has a new inner foam pop filter that's in fantastic shape to help with sound characteristics. Cuts down on unwanted "pops" from breathing to close or windy conditions. These old pop filters always need replacing after about 40 + years. The original green paint on the handle has no scratches, scuff marks or paint loss.   Certainly one of the nicest 652A's you could want. No fractures or engravings and the E.V label is completely legible and looks fantastic. Overall this mic is physically a true 9 + on a scale of 1 - 10.

The mics cable was rotted and in really bad shape so it was replaced and a quality Switchcraft male XLR connector was attached. You can use any longer XLR cable as an extension but I included a short 5 foot matching cable with a male 1/4 inch end connector that is in excellent condition.

Last but not least is the nice original older mic case / box. It has the original foam insert to hold all the accessories and is in very good overall condition.

The case is appx 18 inches wide X 7 inches deep X 3 inches tall. There is plenty of room inside for any other cable or other accessories you choose to use with this mic.

A very fine looking 652A that will continue to rise in value as the years go by due to rarity.
